We get word that opening day of the New York Edition Hotel in the Met-Life Clock Tower building on Madison Square Park (5 Madison Avenue) will open for guests on Monday May 11th. The luxury hotel was conceived by Ian Schrager in a partnership with Marriott International and there are other Edition hotels in London, Istanbul, Miami Beach, with more planned for marquis cities globally in 2016-2018.
The 41-floor tower has 273 guest rooms, a restaurant, a lobby bar, a fitness center and spa. A quick check on prices suggest rooms will range from $500 for a guest room up to $1200 for a suite.
The restaurant will be called Social on Madison, with restaurateur Stephen Starr and Gordon Ramsay protege Chef Jason Atherton. (More on this restaurant soon.)
